"Still Bad Indians"

10 Years Later Symposium

June 3 at University of California, Riverside

To honor Deborah A. Miranda’s groundbreaking and foundational California Indian text Bad Indians: A Tribal Memoir, the California Indian Studies and Scholars Association (CISSA) would like to extend an invitation to attend the “Still Bad Indians: 10 Years Later Symposium” on June 3, 2022. This event will take place at the University of California, Riverside. The symposium is hybrid and will be held online and in-person at the Round Lab (INTS 1111 - CHASS).

Come join us on the day of the symposium and listen to a keynote by Miranda herself, panel presentations from other CISSA members. Finally, we will close the day out with a reading of the play “IYA: The Ex’celen Remember” inspired by Louise Miranda-Ramirez (Ohlone/Costanoan Esselen Nation Chairwoman) and written by Luis xago Juárez. .
